# Institution record sources

Configure read-only access to the institution’s corresponding business records.

## Supported source types

| HTTP JSON | GET request to a fixed HTTPS endpoint with a lookup reference and JSON response |
| PostgreSQL JSON | Parameterised key lookup against a configured table or view using read-only access |

These connectors retrieve business records for comparison. They are not general SQL execution or arbitrary HTTP proxy interfaces.

## Technical prerequisites

Allow only the required host and port in the installation configuration. Manage credentials, certificate trust and read-only database access through the institution’s secure configuration process. HTTP redirection to another destination is not used. The source must return one identifiable record for the requested reference.

## Create the portal connection

Under Institution record sources → Add connection, select the application, source type, lookup information and field mappings. Review connection history. Changes are versioned so a saved comparison retains the source version used for that run.

## If a record cannot be retrieved

Check that the reference exists in the transaction, the returned identity matches, access is permitted and TLS trust is correct. An access failure or missing source record is not a field mismatch.
