Storage, archiving and backups
Plan active storage, historical evidence and recovery as separate responsibilities.
#Current storage path
The current product stores new transaction packages in compressed ClickHouse storage. The historical-package path for records older than one month uses LZMA6 packaging. The active period is not a universal legal deletion deadline or a contractual retention term.
#Archiving is not deletion
Historical access requires the content, verification material and permissions to remain usable together. Transaction records, comparison reports and operational logs can serve different purposes and need different retention schedules.
#Recoverable backups
Include data, control definitions, signing/verification-key management and version compatibility in the recovery plan. The existence of a backup does not establish successful recovery. Schedule isolated restoration and verification exercises. This guide does not set institution-specific RPO or RTO commitments.
